Parent & Family Programs collaborates with numerous campus partners and local vendors every fall to welcome back our families for a special weekend. Family Weekend activities include a Institute Update by President Peterson, stimulating presentations by faculty and staff, College and School receptions, Fall Festival on Tech Green, Georgia Tech vs. Clemson Football Viewing Party in McCamish Pavilion, Halloween Holla 5K Run and Walk, student performances, a Jazz Brunch with Vice President of Student Life and Dean of Students John Stein, community service, and more!

Family Weekend at Georgia Tech is the perfect time to visit your student, learn more about campus life, and create special memories!

In order to make the Family Weekend registration process easier, we ask that you read through the information on this page, as well as the other Family Weekend links to the right.

The Family Weekend 2017 schedule allows families to create their own schedule from the list of events and activities.  There is an overall Family Weekend Registration Fee and some events throughout the weekend also have a small fee. Your family can pick and choose which events, sessions, and activities they would like to attend based on availability, interests, and your budget.

Some Family Weekend events may sell out quickly due to space limitations so we encourage you to register early.

Family Weekend Registration Fee
Adult $30 per person; GT Student $15* per person; Youth (ages 8-17) $10 per person. Children 7 and under are free with registered guests. *GT Student Registration is required for participation.

Arts@Tech Hosts Siro-A – Friday, October 27
The award-winning Japanese phenomenon SIRO-A is renowned for mind-blowing performances combining visual effects, mime, dance, comedy, puppetry, and high-energy music. A vast projection screen acts as a backdrop, and the production utilizes video-mapping, light animation, laser effects and 3D video projection. SIRO-A attracted millions of views on You Tube for their “technodelic” appearances on America’s Got Talent and Britain’s Got Talent.

Sunrise Breakfast at Renaissance Atlanta Midtown – Sunday, October 29
Before you go, have a meal with us! Dine with other Georgia Tech families and enjoy a delicious brunch buffet at the Renaissance Atlanta Midtown Hotel before heading home. Breakfast will be served from 8:00 A.M. until 9:30 A.M.

Jazz Brunch with Dean Stein – Sunday, October 29
Wrap-Up Family Weekend with the Vice President of Student Life and Dean of Students, John Stein and a jazz performance by Georgia Tech students.  Enjoy a delicious brunch buffet, mingle with other Georgia Tech families and wrap up the weekend with your Georgia Tech student before buzzing home. Brunch will begin at 10:30 A.M. and a short program will follow.

Additional Experiences – Be sure to pre-register for these events!
Throughout the weekend there are additional opportunities offered for family members and students. These additional events require pre-registration as space is limited and additional fees may apply.

Halloween Holla 5K
The Campus Recreation Complex invites you to join students, faculty and staff in their annual Halloween Holla 5K Run & Walk on Friday, October 27 at 7:30 a.m. Costumes are encouraged at this event, so all ghosts, ghouls, and walkers are welcome! Registration is required, but this event is free.

College and School Receptions
On Friday, October 27th from 3:30 – 5:00 P.M. you are invited to a special reception hosted by the various academic units throughout campus. Enjoy getting to know faculty and other school administrators in your student’s College or School and learn more about area of study at Georgia Tech.  Registration is required, but this event is free.

Georgia Tech VS. Clemson Football Viewing Party
Cheer on the Yellow Jackets to victory against the Tigers on Saturday, October 28th!  Georgia Tech will be playing Clemson University in Clemson, South Carolina during Family Weekend. We don’t want you to miss out on the fun, so your family is invited to experience the amazing Yellow Jacket spirit with other GT students and families in McCamish Pavilion.  Additional entertainment and spirited giveaways will be provided. Concessions will be open for families to purchase items. Registration is required, but this event is free.

To ensure the quality of programming offered during Family Weekend, we DO NOT offer any refunds. We encourage you to make sure your family members can attend Family Weekend and double check the items in your cart before registering.

On-site registration will be available on Friday, October 27th from 10 A.M - 9:30 P.M. in the Smithgall Student Services Building lobby (next to the Student Center). The following events are FULL or SOLD OUT  - most College and School receptions and Jazz Brunch with Dean Stein.

SIRO-A Tickets can now be purchased at regular price (discounts not available) directly from the Office of the Arts -  Best Price:  Georgia Tech students who purchase SIRO-A tickets in person at the Ferst Center Box Office can purchase tickets for the entire family and will receive their regular discounts ($10 GT Student tickets, 15% discounts on regular price tickets).  Box Office hours: M-F, 10-6.  404-894-9600.
